A flexible control designed to transmit pull motion between two mechanical devices without the use of rods, bellcranks, or other rigid mechanical linkage. Pull controls are specifically designed for applications which designed for applications which require a high load capability and low deflection. The cable often used for operating a vehicle parking brake is a typical example. Design of control installations is simplified; versatility and maintainability are improved by using Cablecraft pull controls on many types of mechanical equipment.
Conduit
The outer control casing is designed to combine high flexibility and the ability to withstand high compressive loads. The inner surface is a helically wound, flat steel wire, through which the load is carried by bearing between adjacent coils, allowing high loads to be transmitted with very low compressive deflections. The steel coils are covered with a layer of plastic for dirt and moisture protection. The conduit has a plastic liner to provide additional environmental protection and improve operating efficiency.
Conduit End Fittings
Cablecraft offers a wide variety of conduit end fittings that you will find when you scroll below. These end fittings are permanently swagged on and are made of protectively plated steel. Cablecraft's most recent development in seal design for conduit end fittings provides maximum protection against the entry of dirt and moisture into the interior of the cable. This seal also keeps the silicone lubricant inside the cable. No further lubricant is required or recommended for the life of the control.
Inner Operating Member The inner operating member is a nylon-covered performed, high-tensile galvanized steel strand. The smooth surface of the innermember increases the efficiency of the seal and prolongs cable life.
Cablecraft offers two different series, the 3000 pound series and the 1500 pound series.
3000 lbs. Series
The ultimate load for this series is 3000 lbs. The minimum bend radius is 7".
1500 lbs. Series
The ultimate load for this series is 1500 lbs. The minimum bend radius is 5".
3000 lbs. And 1500 lbs. Cable End Stop Options
There are two options for cable end stops:
1. A sphere (ball end) that is swaged to .375" in diameter.
or
2. A rectangle (squared cylinder type) that is swaged to .41" wide by .78" long.
These end stops are most commonly used to hold on clevis's. |
